Active Release Technique
Active Release Technique is a state-of-the-‘ART’ technique involving the use of the therapist’s hands to ‘strip’ muscles while moving the patient through a series of motions. ART is rendered by therapists trained through the ART Academy.
ART is very effective for decreased range of motion (movement) due to:
- Back and neck pain
- Sports injuries
- Knee, hip, and ankle pain
- Shoulder pain
- Hand and foot pain
- Sprain/strains (including repetitive strain injuries)
- Headaches/migraines
- Work related injuries
- Car accident injuries (please see Motor Vehicle Accident Rehabilitation)
- Plantar Fascitis
